all in Breeders' Cup

The co-feature of “Future Stars Friday” on Breeders’ Cup weekend is the $2 million NetJets Juvenile Fillies. The country’s top 2-year-old fillies will travel 1 1/16 miles on the dirt main track at Del Mar for the right to be called a Breeders’ Cup champion. The Grade 1 race is scheduled as the seventh race on the card with a listed post time of 6:30 p.m. ET.

Year in and year out, my favorite race in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships is the FanDuel Mile Presented by PDJF. One-mile races on the grass are, in my opinion, the best races in the sport of Thoroughbred racing for betting and pure enjoyment.

Some of the country’s top fillies and mares will square off this Saturday at Del Mar in the $2 million, Grade 1 Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff. A star-studded field of 11 will travel 1 ⅛ miles on dirt in their quest to become Breeders’ Cup champions.

A year that has been eventful, to put it mildly, will reach its championship crescendo Nov. 6 with a race stuffed with many of the major story lines in 2021.

Tom Pedulla presents five key takeaways as the horses produced their last major workouts in preparation for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships this coming Friday and Saturday at Del Mar:
