The Grade 1, $300,000 Forego Stakes Presented by America's Best Racing has always been a summer showcase for some of the top sprinters in North America and the 2020 edition is no exception.

For years, the Sword Dancer Stakes at Saratoga Race Course had to battle it out for the best older turf horses with the Arlington Million Stakes. With the Arlington Million cancelled this year, Saturday's Grade 1 Sword Dancer looms as the best option for East Coast turfers.

The horse racing world like all other areas of society continues to make changes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and public health crisis. Most racetracks currently operating are doing so without spectators, and have instituted strict safety screening protocols for essential employees who are already on the grounds to provide daily care for horses.

“She had a very aggressive side that made her a little difficult to work with at times,” said Richard Mandella, her Hall of Fame trainer. “Saying that, it’s part of what made her the fighter she was.”
