all in Breeders' Cup

For the fourth year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call “Big-Race Showdown.”

Saturday’s $500,000, Grade 1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga Race Course pits seven 3-year-old fillies against one another, with the winner getting an automatic starting spot into the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff on the first weekend in November.

The Alabama Stakes usually offers 3-year-old fillies a chance to do what 3-year-old colts will do a week later, namely race at a demanding 1 ¼-mile, classic distance at Saratoga. Only this year, due to revised racing schedules, it’s no longer ladies first.

Saturday’s $500,000 Grade 1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga Race Course is one of the most prestigious races for 3-year-old fillies in North America and is a true test of stamina.

Each week a panel of media members, horseplayers, and Breeders’ Cup World Championships officials release a poll tabulating their votes on the nation's top contenders for the 2020 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic.
