all in Breeders' Cup

The Road to the 2023 Breeders’ Cup heads north of the border this weekend, with three “Win and You’re In” qualifying preps scheduled Saturday, Sept. 16, at Woodbine in Toronto.

Tom Pedulla presents five takeaways from a major weekend of racing that included two Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series Races at Kentucky Downs while a Grade 1 race for 2-year-old fillies and another for juvenile colts helped close Del Mar’s successful summer meet.

Get Smokin had never won a race or ever even traveled beyond 1 1/16 miles in any race before entering the starting gate for the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series 'Win and You're In' 1 1/2-mile Grade 2 FanDuel Kentucky Turf Cup Stakes on Sept. 9 at Kentucky Downs.

As the road to the 2024 Breeders’ Cup World Championships picks up momentum in mid-September, the focus for the upcoming weekend shifts to Woodbine in Toronto, which will host three Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” races on Saturday, Sept. 14.

For the seventh year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the 2023 Triple Crown and then continuing through the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call the “Big Race Showdown.”
