After being contested as the opening leg of the Triple Crown last year and run at a mile and an eighth due to the pandemic, the 153rd Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets returns to its customary place on the racing calendar as the last of the spring classics, run at a mile and a half on the first Saturday in June.

This Saturday, Belmont Park will host the $1.5 million, Grade 1 Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets. This year’s 1 ½-mile “Test of the Champion” concludes this year’s Triple Crown series, and features some of the country’s top 3-year-olds.

AMERICA’S TOP THOROUGHBREDS FOR JUNE 1, 2021

One of the biggest weeks in horse racing kicks off Thursday, June 3 with the start of the Belmont Stakes Festival at Belmont Park. The four-day event is highlighted by the 153rd running of the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets on Saturday, June 5, where eight 3-year-old Thoroughbreds are slated to contest the final leg of the Triple Crown.
