all in Triple Crown

Leave it to Spielberg to add drama to a six-horse, Grade 2 Los Alamitos Futurity.

Last of 10 after a half-mile and more than 11 lengths off the early pace, Senor Buscador rallied powerfully under jockey Luis Quinonez to win the $200,000 Remington Springboard Mile Stakes by 5 3/4 lengths Dec. 18 at Remington Park.

Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert’s fingerprints can be found on virtually all of the major stakes in California. But when it comes to the Los Alamitos Futurity, Baffert has all 10 of his fingers and two of his toes wrapped around the 2-year-old stakes.

It’s safe to say no trainer has enjoyed more success in the $200,000, Grade 2 Los Alamitos Futurity than Bob Baffert. Indeed, it’s rare to see any trainer dominate a single graded stakes to such an extraordinary extent.

The $200,000 Remington Springboard Mile Stakes Friday evening at Remington Park is a traditional December showcase for 2-year-olds who are just starting out on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, as this race awards a total of 17 points including 10 to the winner.
