Keeping Thoroughbred racing's biggest stars competing longer and building around them city-based leagues, similar to what exists with other major professional team sports, are the goals behind a new venture called the National Thoroughbred League.

Each week, members of the national media vote on the nation's top contenders on the Triple Crown trail in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) Top Thoroughbred Poll.

Week 17 of the 2023 NTRA Top Three-Year-Old Thoroughbred Poll, covers racing performances through May 21, meaning that this is the first poll to reflect the results up through the Preakness Stakes.
