Each week, members of the national media vote on the nation's top contenders on the Triple Crown trail in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) Top Thoroughbred Poll.

Week 15 of the 2023 NTRA Top Three-Year-Old Thoroughbred Poll, covers racing performances through May 7. Based on his victory in the Kentucky Derby, Mage rocketed up the charts to No. 1 while former leader Forte moved to the second spot. Other top finishers from the Kentucky Derby, Two Phil's, Angel of Empire, and Disarm also made the list.

Everyone has an opinion in horse racing. It’s one of the most alluring aspects of the sport. Debates rage about which horse was better, which performance was greater, or which rivalry was the most memorable.

Handicappers, racing writers, and fans rarely — in fact, almost never — agree.
