The FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile presented by PDJF is one of those races that underscores why the event is called the World Championships. A strong international field once again has assembled for the one-mile turf test in which foreign runners have been victorious in the last four editions and five of the last six.

The Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf is, more often than not, an international showcase, validating the “World” in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. It’s been dominated by horses shipping in from overseas ever since its first running as part of the premiere Breeders’ Cup at Hollywood Park in 1984.

Cherie DeVaux will saddle five Breeders’ Cup starters Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar, a sure sign of her rise to prominence as she attempts to become only the eighth woman to train a winner at the World Championships.

The Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic never disappoints when it comes to attracting the world’s best horses. But this year, in particular, it is truly an international classic.
