The Dubai World Cup Carnival is now well underway and we are continuing to see some stunning racing at Meydan racecourse, as all roads lead to the World Cup night in just a few weeks.

This week again saw a number of eye-catching performances, with jockey William Buick and trainer Charlie Appleby again stealing the show, and the duo will again be expected to see some great success on World Cup night. So, with this being the case, here we cover three horses to follow from this week’s carnival races.

Brad Cox has an Eclipse Award for outstanding trainer on his mantle, a prize he received last month in reward for a dazzling 2020 campaign.

He won four Breeders' Cup races last year, trains a two-time champion in Monomoy Girl, and has one of the favorites next weekend in the $20 million Saudi Cup in Knicks Go.

Rombauer, a winner on turf and Grade 1-placed on dirt at age 2, is now a stakes winner on another surface, the synthetic Tapeta Footings track at Golden Gate Fields.

The Risen Star Stakes Presented by Lamarque Ford signals a big change on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.

Tom Pedulla is interviewing prominent owners, trainers and jockeys for America’s Best Racing as they travel the Road to the 147th Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve on May 1 at Churchill Downs.
