Four-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown had two wins from 12 starts last week in North America (17%) with $182,983 in earnings. Despite a relatively slow week, Brown became the first and only trainer this year to surpass $30 million in 2024 earnings.

Stuart S. Janney III, chair of The Jockey Club, announced today his intention to step down from his position as chair, effective August 2025. He recommended, and the board of stewards of The Jockey Club agreed, that Everett Dobson, a member of the board of stewards, be chosen as his successor. The leadership transition will commence over the coming months, and Janney will remain on the board of stewards through his term, which will end in August 2026.

Not all 2-year-olds have aspirations of running in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve on the first Saturday in May. Some have distance limitations, though that doesn’t mean they cannot have a highly productive career as a sprinter.
