The 41st annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships is set for Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar in Southern California. The event – plus the festivities preceding it – promises to be one of the most exciting experiences for fans around the world, whether they attend in person or watch the races across NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and FanDuel TV on Friday and Saturday.

The 2024 Breeders’ Cup is fast approaching, and fields are beginning to take shape for the 14-race, two-day World Championships set for Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar.

With the Nov. 1 and 2 Breeders’ Cup World Championships coming toward the end of a long and challenging season, success at Del Mar will have everything to do with timing.

This year will be the 41st edition of the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Much has changed in the sport of horse racing since the first edition in 1984, but history can guide us in multiple ways in terms of what to look for in a Classic winner.
