The 146th Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve at Churchill Downs will be rescheduled from May 2, 2020, to Sept. 5, 2020, and the 146th Longines Kentucky Oaks will be rescheduled from May 1, 2020 to Sept. 4, 2020. These dates are contingent upon final approval from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, which is expected at its next meeting March 19.

Mental toughness.

All jockeys must possess that quality to some extent merely to be willing to enter the starting gate with half-ton Thoroughbreds. Gary and Scott Stevens have taken mental toughness to another level, to where it can best be described as mental ferocity.

Making the Grade, which will run through the 2020 Belmont Stakes, focuses on the winners or top performers of the key races, usually from the previous weekend, who could make an impact on the Triple Crown. We’ll be taking a close look at impressive winners and evaluating their chances to win classic races based upon ability, running style, connections (owner, trainer, jockey), and pedigree.
