Moore, Ortiz Among Stars Aligned for International Jockeys’ Championship

Next month, on Dec. 10, the International Jockeys’ Championship will be contested at Happy Valley Racecourse in Hong Kong. Twelve jockeys from nine different countries will compete in a series of four races on randomly selected mounts. Each race offers 12 points to the winner, six points for second, and four points for third.

With only a dominant debut win under his saddle, Daredevil swamped the opposition in the Grade 1 Foxwoods Champagne Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park.

The victory earned Daredevil the $300,000 winner’s share of the $500,000 purse and cemented his status as a legitimate contender for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. As a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” race, the Champagne provided Daredevil with a guaranteed starting spot in the Juvenile on Nov. 1.
