Albahr, a Godolphin homebred Dubawi gelding, finished third in his debut in May 2021 but won his next three starts in England, including a three-quarter length win in a listed stakes in August.
Trainer Charles Appleby then shipped Albahr to Woodbine for the Grade 1 Summer Stakes on Sept. 19, a “Win and You’re In” prep for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf in November. With Frankie Dettori in the irons, Albahr rallied from near the back to win the one-mile race by a widening 2 ¼ lengths.’
