Andiamo a Firenze led every step of the way as the 9-10 favorite in his career debut June 3, 2022, at Belmont Park, surging clear to win by four lengths on the sloppy track. Trainer Kelly Breen next shipped the Speightstown colt to Saratoga Race Course for the $175,000 Sanford Stakes, and Andiamo a Firenze challenged for the lead in deep stretch of the Grade 3 race but faded late and finished third in his stakes debut.

The dark bay or brown colt stayed at Saratoga for his third start and dominated the opposition in the Funny Cide Stakes Presented by Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital Aug. 26. Andiamo a Firenze pressed the pace from third early, took command after a half-mile in a brisk :44.84 in the 6 ½-furlong race, and powered to a 5 ½-length runaway victory as the odds-on favorite under Irad Ortiz Jr.
As a 3-year-old in 2023, Andiamo a Firenze was stretched out and placed on the Kentucky Derby trail in the $250,000 Grade 3 Withers Stakes at 1 1/8 miles at Aqueduct on Feb. 11. He finished fourth and earned 4 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.
Andiamo a Firenze, which translates to Let’s Go to Florence, is a half-brother (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) to Grade 1 winner Firenze Fire, the third-place finisher in the 2020 Breeders’ Cup Sprint.
