Bellum Justum won his first career race as a 2-year-old at Newmarket, Great Britain on Sept. 28, 2022. He later began his 3-year-old season with a win in his 2024 debut in a 1 1/4-mile race at Epsom (GB) on April 23. He later ran seventh in a 16-horse field in the Group 1 Epson Derby on June 1.
Bellum Justum made his North American debut in the Grade 3 $1.9 million DK Horse Nashville Derby at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 31. He rallied from the rear half of the 12-horse field at 1 5/16-miles on the turf and charged past the field and drew off to a 2 1/4-length victory.
