Breakpoint, a Chilean-bred son of Constitution, started his racing career in his native country and won his first five starts in 2020, including three Group 1 stakes, before shipping to the U.S. and making his first domestic start in June 2021. He finished fourth in an allowance optional claiming race for trainer Chad Brown and then last of eight in a Grade 3 race at Saratoga.

The horse was transferred to trainer Steve Asmussen for his next two starts, both graded stakes races in Kentucky, and finished seventh and 11th. He resurfaced in California during summer 2022 under Neil Drysdale’s supervision, and the 5-year-old made his West Coast debut a winning one with a gritty head win over Red King in the Grade 3 San Juan Capistrano Stakes on Santa Anita Park’s June 19 closing-day card.
Breakpoint is a homebred of Haras Don Alberto Stable.
