Classic Car Wash was unplaced in his career debut in July 2022 but made amends in his second race when stretching out an extra quarter-mile to seven furlongs at Gulfstream Park Dec. 2, 2022. The Noble Bird gelding rallied from fifth after a half-mile to win by 8 ½ lengths under Emisael Jaramillo. He followed with a front-running 2 ½-length win in a one-mile and 70-yard allowance race on the synthetic main track at Gulfstream in his 3-year-old debut Jan. 6, 2023.

Trainer Mark Casse tested Classic Car Wash for the first time against stakes competition and on the road to the 2023 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve in the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. He finished third behind winner Litigate and Groveland in his first start in a stakes race.
Next up was the Grade 3 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby on March 11, and Classic Car Wash ran even better in a runner-up finish to Tapit Trice.
