Competitive Speed began her 3-year-old season with a stakes win. She won the Glitter Woman Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 2, drawing off to win by three lengths for trainer Javier Gonzalez and jockey Leonel Reyes. That was her third win in a row, from four career starts.
On Feb. 27, Competitive Speed earned ten points on the road to the Grade 1 Longines Kentucky Oaks, with a third-place finish in the Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream. She earned 20 more points with a third-place effort in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Oaks on Mar. 27.
