Diamond Oops

Diamond Oops won his career debut on June 1, 2017, at Gulfstream Park, and he followed with a 3 ½-length runaway win there in the Kiss a Native Stakes.

Unplaced in the Grade 2 Saratoga Special Stakes, Diamond Oops bounced back to win the Buffalo Man Stakes in December 2017 at Gulfstream Park in his final start as a 2-year-old.

Diamond Oops ran sixth in his only start as a 3-year-old and subsequently was gelded before making his 4-year-old bow. He was third on May 27 in the Crystal River Stakes at Gulfstream before finishing fifth in the Grade 1 Jaipur Stakes in June at Belmont Par, both on the grass. Diamond Oops returned to the main track on June 29 in the Grade 3 Smile Sprint Stakes and regained his winning form with a three-quarter-length victory. He then finished second in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt at Saratoga and was back on the grass at Keeneland, finishing second in the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile at 12-1 odds. 

After finishing eighth in the Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, Doamind Oops closed out his 2019 season with  victory in the Grade 3 Mr. Prospector Stakes Dec. 21 at Gulfstream Park. The gelding began 2020 with a fourth-place finish in the lucrative Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfsrream and then ran second in a one-mile handicap there in June. Switched to turf, he tallied a swift come-from-behind win in the Grade 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint Presented by Sysco at Churchill Downs on Sept. 4.

In his next start, Diamond Oops switched back to the dirt for the Oct. 2 Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland. He rallied through the stretch under Florent Geroux to get past longshot Empire of Gold by three quarters of a length and earn an automatic berth to the Breeders’ Cup Sprint with a game victory.
