Exaulted

Exaulted emerged from what had been an ordinary career running on the dirt at the ages of 3, 4, and 5, and switched to the grass at the age of 6 to become a southern California star on the turf.

Exaulted won his maiden race as a 4-year-old in what was his fourth career start on Feb. 12, 2021. He then proceeded through seven more races in 2021 and 2022 and was winless in those starts but did record several in-the-money finishes, including most notably a pair of Grade 2 third-place finishes in 2021 in the San Carlos Stakes and in the Triple Bend Stakes.

When his career seemed to stall during his 5-year-old season in 2022, Exaulted was moved from the dirt to the turf at the start of his 2023 campaign and he immediately had his career take off from that point forward. He began his 6-year-old season with a victory in an allowance race at Santa Anita in his career grass debut on Jan. 2, 2023, and then scored a repeat win in a Santa Anita allowance optional claiming race on turf on Feb. 5.

Exaulted won his first career stakes race in his third start of 2023, which was his third lifetime race on turf in the Grade 3 American Stakes at Santa Anita on April 2. That win launched him into the field for the Grade 1 $500,000 Shoemaker Mile Stakes on May 29 at Santa Anita, where he was again victorious to earn his first career Grade 1 win and improve his record on the grass to 4-for-4. Sent off as the 3.10-1 second choice on the tote board in an 11-horse field in the Shoemaker Mile, Exaulted chased the pace close-up throughout and moved to the lead in the stretch where he then successfully held off the closers to win by a half a length in a time of 1:34.08 on firm turf. The Shoemaker Mile was a Breeders' Cup "win and you're in" race for the 2023 Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita, and with his victory, Exaulted secured his spot in the Breeders' Cup Mile field.

Exaulted is trained by Peter Eurton. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Twirling Candy out of the mare Gilded Miracle by Gilded Time.
