Idea Generation began her career as a 2-year-old and won her first lifetime race vs. maidens on Nov. 5, 2022, in a 1 1/16-mile turf race at Aqueduct. She then went winless in three starts as a 3-year-old in 2023, with the highlight of the campaign being a runner-up finish in the Grade 3 Waya Stakes at Belmont at the Big A on Oct. 7

Idea Generation went from a non-winner of two lifetime to a Grade 2 winner in one fell swoop when she upset the $500,000 Flower Bowl Stakes going 1 3/8 miles through the rain on a yielding turf course at Saratoga on Aug. 31, 2024. Idea Generation was the only speed in the Flower Bowl, and she took advantage of the pace to get a long solo lead in slow fractions, then she had enough gas left in the tank to hold off the field in the stretch to win by 1 1/2 lengths atop a seven-horse field. The Flower Bowl was a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "win and you're in" race, and with her victory Idea Generation won an expense-paid guaranteed entry into the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf scheduled on Nov. 2 at Del Mar.
Idea Generation is trained by Chad Brown. She was bred in Ireland by the sire Dubawi out of the mare Knocknagree by Galileo.
