Juliet Foxtrot (GB)

Juddmonte Farms’ homebred Juliet Foxtrot won one of eight starts in Europe before she was shipped to the United State and joined the barn of Brad Cox for her 4-year-old campaign.

The bay Dansili filly won her stateside debut by a head at Keeneland in April 2019 and followed with another allowance win at Churchill Downs in May, pulling away in the stretch to win by 4 ½ lengths as the heavy favorite.

Juliet Foxtrot, who raced in several group stakes in Europe, tried stakes competition in the U.S. for the first time in the Grade 3 Modesty Handicap on July 11 at Arlington International Racecourse. She set the pace in the Modesty, turned back a bid from race favorite Simply Breathless at the top of the stretch, and powered to a 1 ¾-length win. She followed that race with runner-up efforts in both the Grade 2 John C. Mabee Stakes in August and the Grade 1 First Lady Stakes in October. before closing out her 4-year-old season with a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes Dec. 1 at Del Mar.

After failing to win in her first three races of 2020, a string that included a third in the Grade 1 Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes in July at Keeneland, Juliet Foxtrot returned to the winner's circle with a dominant victory in the Grade 3 Gallorette Stakes on the Oct. 3 Preakness Stakes undercard.

Juliet Foxtrot made her 2021 debut in the Grade 1 Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland on Apr. 10. With a front-running ride from Tyler Gaffalione, she left the rest behind and cruised to an two-length victory over the yielding turf course. Off that win, she was the odds-on favorite in the Grade 3 Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes at Churchill Downs on June 11, but finished second behind longshot Mintd. 

Stakes winner Kilo Alpha, by King’s Best, is the dam (mother) of Juliet Foxtrot.
