Lemista (IRE)

As a 3-year-old in 2020, Lemista went 3-for-4 in her native Ireland, including three stakes victories. For her 2021 campaign, she was shipped to the United States and placed in the care of Chad Brown.

In her 2021 debut, Lemista finished second in the Grade 3 Beaugay Stakes at Belmont Park on May 8. She rated off a slow pace on the inside, and although she chased valiantly after Harvey's Lil Goil in the stretch, she could not get by.

The daughter of Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven’s Pass made two more starts during her first year in the U.S., finishing eighth in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes and third in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes, closing well in the latter race under Flavien Prat.

Lemista debuted in 2022 with another start in the Beaugay Stakes at Belmont Park on May 22. She ran an even fourth in that race, and then improved in her follow-up start when shipped to Monmouth Park, finishing third in the Grade 3 Eatontown Stakes.

In her sixth U.S. start, Lemista broke through with an elusive graded stakes win, taking the 1 1/8-mile, Grade 3 WinStar Matchmaker Stakes at Monmouth on July 23 by gamely holding off stablemate and multiple graded stakes winner Fluffy Socks with Prat back aboard.
