Loves Only You made history at Del Mar on Nov. 6, 2021. She won the Grade 1 Maker's Mark Filly and Mare Turf at 4.30-1, under a deft ride by Yuga Kawada. She split horses late in the stretch and got up for the win, becoming the first Japanese horse to win the Filly and Mare Turf.
The race was her second Grade/Group 1 triumph of 2021; she previously won the Group 1 FWD Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin in Hong Kong in April. Loves Only You won another Group 1 to close out 2021, taking the Longines Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin.
