Magic On Tap made a nice first impression in his career debut, pulling clear to a 2 ½-length win in a 6 ½-furlong maiden special weight race Sept. 1, 2018 at Del Mar, but he did not race again as a 2-year-old.
The Tapit colt returned more than 11 months later and made his first start as a 3-year-old Aug. 18, 2019, at Del Mar and ran second in a 1 1/16-mile allowance-optional claiming race. He followed with another second in a one-mile allowance-optional claiming race Sept. 27 at Santa Anita Park.

Magic On Tap again was sidelined for an extended stretch as he did not race for 18 months, returning to the racetrack March 29, 2021 in a 1 1/16-mile race at Santa Anita, where he proved much the best in a 1 ½-length win. Tested next against stakes competition in the 1 1/18-mile, Grade 2 Californian Stakes April 17, he faded late and finished a well-beaten fourth.
For his next start, Magic On Tap cut back in distance for the seven-eighths of a mile, Grade 2 Triple Bend Stakes and edged away late to win by two lengths from Shooters Shoot.
Grade 1 winner Aubby K, by Street Sense, is the dam (mother) of Magic On Tap.
