Maple Leaf Mel was 2-for-2 as a 2-year-old in 2022, winning her career debut Aug. 10 at Saratoga Race Course by five lengths and then leading from start to finish 16 days later at Saratoga in the Seeking the Ante Stakes, which she won by 3 ½ lengths.
The Cross Traffic filly returned from a long layoff for her 3-year-old bow March 24, 2023, at Aqueduct and won the East View Stakes for New York-breds by 7 ¾ lengths.

Maple Leaf Mel made her graded stakes debut in the $150,000 Miss Preakness Stakes on the May 19 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes undercard. She set a pressured pace in the three-quarter-mile race, opened a commanding lead in the stretch, and held on to win by 1 ½ lengths while completing the distance in 1:09.56.
Maple Leaf Mel kept her unblemished record intact at a perfect 5-for-5 to begin her career with a victory in the Grade 3 $175,000 Victory Ride Stakes for 3-year-old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs at Belmont Park on July 8. In the Victory Ride, Maple Leaf Mel did what she does best. She went right to the front and could not be caught, coasting under the wire in a final time of 1:15.74 for the 6 1/2 furlongs to score a 2 1/2-length win under jockey Joel Rosario.
