Mr Fisk

Mr Fisk won his first race in his third career start and first of his 3-year-old season, taking a one-mile dirt race at Santa Anita Park by three quarters of a length on Jan. 2, 2023. He made a start on the Triple Crown trail next, but finished sixth in the San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita and did not race again until June 4. The Arrogate colt returned in good form, checking in second by three quarters of a length in the Affirmed Stakes to Geaux Rocket Ride, who subsequently won the TVG.com Haskell Stakes.

Trainer Bob Baffert tried Mr Fisk on turf in his next start, but the colt finished 10^th in the Caesars Sportsbook Oceanside Stakes at Del Mar in July. He then returned to dirt and in a game effort closed to finish in a dead heat for first with pacesetter Tahoe Sunrise in the Sept. 3 Shared Belief Stakes at Del Mar.

After a break of nearly three months, Mr Fisk returned in the Nov. 26 Native Diver Stakes at Del Mar and tallied his second stakes win in a row, kicking clear to defeat Skinner by 1 ¼ lengths.

Mr Fisk opened up his 4-year-old campaign with a fifth-place finish in the Grade 2 Pan Pasqual Stakes at Santa Anita on Jan. 27, 2024. He quickly made amends for that defeat, however, and got back in the winner's circle with a victory in the Grade 3 $100,000 Californian Stakes going 1 1/8 miles at Santa Anita on April 20.

Mr Fisk also won again in his next race, which came in the Grade 2 $200,000 Hollywood Gold Cup going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on May 27. Sent off as 5-2 odds favorite in a field of seven horses in the Gold Cup, Mr Fisk raced off the early pace and then moved closer on the backstretch run and waited to clear traffic turning for home before finishing strongly to get up for a 2 1/4-length victory. 

Mr Fisk is out of the Manduro mare Plein Air, a stakes winner on turf in the U.S. and Italy.
