Trainer Todd Fincher next entered him in a stakes race for a class test, and the Omaha Beach colt finished fifth, beaten by two lengths, in the Grade 3 Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes. He moved back to dirt for the Grade 1 American Pharoah Stakes Presented by DK Horse Oct. 5 at Santa Anita Park and again finished fifth, beaten by 16 lengths by winner Citizen Bull.
