Skims made her career debut as a 2-year-old on Oct. 23, 2021, in a Belmont turf sprint race, and then wasted no time stretching out and getting into the winner's circle, which she did twice in a row to win both her second and third lifetime starts -- first in a maiden race at 1 1/16 miles at Aqueduct on Nov. 19, and then in her 3-year-old debut on Feb. 16, 2022, in an allowance optional claiming race at 1 1/16 miles at Tampa Bay Downs.

The 3-year-old season did not continue to go as smoothly for Skims as it had started out, however, with the bay filly rising up in class against graded stakes competition for her next three starts. The best finish among those races was a third in the Grade 2 Wonder Again Stakes at Belmont Park on June 9.
Skims showed strong improvement on Sept. 5 at Kentucky Downs, when she placed second by a head in the $445,000 Dueling Grounds Oaks, which was run at the distance of 1 5/16 miles.
Skims graded stakes breakthrough happened in her following start on Oct. 15 at the Belmont at the Big A meet when Skims was victorious in the Grade 2 $200,000 Sands Point Stakes at 1 1/8 miles under Johnny Velazquez.
Skims is trained by Shug McGaughey. She was bred in Great Britain by the sire Frankel, out of the mare Royal Decree by Street Cry.
