Late-blooming Switzerland took eight tries to break his maiden and did so in February of his 4-year-old season, one year after his debut. He never finished worse than fourth, though, and after his maiden-breaking win reeled off three more consecutive victories culminating in the Grade 3 Maryland Sprint Stakes on the Preakness undercard.

Sitzerland's winning streak came to a halt when he finished fifth in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap in July at Saratoga, but he got back on track with a dominant victory in the Grade 3 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes on Sept. 22 at Laurel Park.
A few months after his DeFrancis Dash win, Switzerland was privately purchased and began racing in the Middle East. He earned the biggest victory of his career on Mar. 26, 2022, when he won the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen Sponsored by Atlantis Dubai.
A son of consistently top sire Speightstown, Switzerland was a $500,000 purchase as a 2-year-old in 2016.
