Win for the Money earned the first stakes win of his career as a 5-year-old making his 13th lifetime start when he won the $79,000 Mr. Steele Stakes going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Gulfstream Park on May 25, 2024. Before that he had hit the board in a pair of synthetic surface Graded stakes at Woodbine in 2023, with his best finish coming when he was second in the Grade 2 Autumn Stakes.

Win for the Money earned a solid second-place finish in the $250,000 Kentucky Downs Preview Turf Mile Stakes at Ellis Park on Aug. 3, 2024, and coming off of that effort trainer Mark Casse decided to send Win for the Money to the Grade 1 $1 million Rogers Woodbine Mile for his next start. The plan worked and Win for the Money lived up to his name. He won the Woodbine Mile with a late-running 1 1/2-length victory in a career-best performance atop an international eight-horse field as a 13.65-1 longshot on the tote board. Additionally, the Woodbine Mile was a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "win and you're in" race, and with his victory, Win for the Money earned an expense-paid berth into the Breeders' Cup Mile on Nov. 2 at Del Mar.
Win for the Money is trained by Mark Casse. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Mohaymen out of the mare Mayakoba by War Chant.
