The native of Sinaloa, Mexico won five straight riding titles at Minnesota’s Canterbury Park from 1995 through 1999 also boasts titles from Oaklawn Park and Lone Star Park. He now rides regularly on the Arkansas-Texas-Oklahoma circuit. His top runners include stakes winner Alternation and Suddenbreakingnews, who won the 2016 Southwest Stakes and finished fifth in the Kentucky Derby.
The biggest dream for many jockeys is winning the Kentucky Derby but for Quinonez it was becoming an American citizen. He is now a proud U.S. citizen.
