Scott Stevens, a native of Idaho and the older brother of Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, began riding professionally at age 15 in his home state and won his first race at Les Bois Park on May 30, 1976. After success at tracks including Canterbury Park in Minnesota, Stevens set up a home base at Turf Paradise outside of Phoenix, Az., in the early 1990s and became a mainstay at the track, winning the riding title nine times through 2019.

Stevens won his first graded stakes in 1997 on Rotsaluck. He continued to build a legacy through the decades at Turf Paradise, and at age 59, he recorded his 5,000th career victory there on March 9, 2020. Stevens’ mounts have earned over $43 million through March 2020.
The popular and well-respected Stevens won the 70th George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award in 2019.
