WOW!! That is the only word that instantly comes to mind when I think about Goldie and I’s time at the Thoroughbred Makeover this year. It was easily one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, but with a great time comes a year’s worth of emotions. Goldie and I competed in Show Hunters on Wednesday and Show Jumpers on Thursday.

Cody Dorman, the 17-year-old Kentuckian at the heart of the most emotionally charged story during this year’s and last year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships, died Nov. 5 on his way home after watching his namesake Cody’s Wish win his second consecutive Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, according to the Dorman family.

The Breeders’ Cup returned to Arcadia, Calif., in 2023 for a record 11th time as the event celebrated its 40th Anniversary. A sensational Southern California fall afternoon greeted racing fans for on Championship Saturday, where nine Breeders’ Cup races were held including the Longines Classic.
