all in The Life

OwnerView announced today that 2023 New Owner of the Year, sponsored by 1/ST RACING, was a dead heat between Jim and Dana Bernhard and Alexander Bregman.

Applications for The Jockey Club’s paid internship program for college students and recent college graduates and its five academic scholarships opened today.

The internship program will accommodate up to three interns and is now available in the summer or fall based on the intern’s preference. Interns will gain exposure to all companies and departments within the organization, and they will have the opportunity to spend additional time in areas that they find to be of particular interest. The program will last eight weeks.

Cody Dorman, the 17-year-old Kentuckian at the heart of the most emotionally charged story during this year’s and last year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships, died Nov. 5 on his way home after watching his namesake Cody’s Wish win his second consecutive Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, according to the Dorman family.

As the 40th edition of the Nov. 3-4 World Championships at Santa Anita Park approaches, Hayley Amoss, senior manager of social media and content at Breeders’ Cup, is in the midst of her busiest time of the year.

Elizabeth Merryman knew she had the horse of a lifetime after she bred Caravel and trained her to six victories in her first eight starts. She also knew she was in for the fight of a lifetime after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in early July 2021.
