The bay Lookin At Lucky colt then finished second in both the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes and Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity before closing his 2-year-old season with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 1 Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

Lookin At Lee returned for his 3-year-old bow in the Grade 3 Southwest Stakes and finished a distant third behind winner One Liner in the 1 1/16-mile race. He then finished sixth in the Rebel Stakes and third in the Arkansas Derby before a runner-up effort in the 143rd Kentucky Derby.
Lookin At Lee became the only 3-year-old of 2017 to start in all three Triple Crown races as he finished fourth in the Preakness Stakes and then a well-beaten seventh in the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets. He showed improvement when returning for the West Virginia Derby, finishing third, but followed that up with a tenth-place finish in the Travers Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets at Saratoga.
