Oleksandra (AUS)

Oleksandra began her career in her native Australia for Team Valor International and finished second twice and third once in three races in 2017.

She was transferred to the U.S. and trainer Neil Drysdale in 2018 and won her U.S. debut on the downhill turf course at Santa Anita Park by a neck in October.

Two starts later Oleksanda won an allowance race on the downhill turf course on Jan. 20 in her 2019 debut. She won two of her next three starts in allowance company before she was tested against stakes competition, finishing third in the Grade 2 Royal North Stakes at Woodbine in July 2019.

Oleksandra earned a breakthrough stakes win in August when she closed powerfully to win the Smart N Fancy Stakes at Saratoga. After a third-place finish in a Grade 3 race at Kentucky Downs in September, she charged from off the pace to win the Grade 3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes by two lengths Oct. 11 at Keeneland.

Oleksandra earned the biggest win of her career to date on June 20, 2020, when she won the Grade 1 Jaipur Stakes at Belmont Park by a neck. She rallied from last under jockey Joel Rosario for an exciting win as the slight 2.25-1 favorite. She did not race again under the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint that fall, where she finished ninth.

Exactly one year later, Oleksandra won the Grade 3 Poker Stakes at Belmont in a 17.40-1 upset. She broke slowly and fell far behind in the early stages of the one-mile race. However, she made a bold rally in the stretch and surged late for the victory, defeating heavy favorite Raging Bull in the process. She covered the mile in a sharp 1:32.11.

By 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, Oleksandra is out of Australian Group 2 winner Alexandra Rose, by Caesour.
