After running second in his final race as a 2-year-old, Farmington Road earned a breakthrough win in his 3-year-old debut in a one-mile and 40-yard maiden special weight race at Tampa Bay Downs. The Quality Road colt stalked the pace and surged clear late to win by 1 3/4 lengths on Jan. 12.

Tested next on the 2020 Triple Crown trail, Farmington Road held his own in his stakes debut with a fourth-place finish in the first division of the Risen Star Stakes Presented by Lamarque Ford Feb. 15 at Fair Grounds. He then shipped to Oaklawn Park for the April 11 Oaklawn Stakes, and ran a fast-closing second behind upset winner Mr. Big News. He followed with a fourth-place finish in the second division of the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby May 2 at Oaklawn.
Multiple stakes-placed winner Silver La Belle, by Langfuhr, is the dam of Farmington Road. Silver La Belle is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Silverfoot.
