Envoutante, an Uncle Mo filly owned by Walking L Thoroughbreds and Three Chimneys Farm and trained by Ken McPeek, did not start as a 2-year-old and made her debut in February 2020 at Gulfstream Park, finishing third in a one-mile turf race. She was switched to dirt and finished second in her second start at Gulfstream and then won her third race by a dominant 6 ½ lengths going 1 1/16 miles.
Envoutante, an Uncle Mo filly owned by Walking L Thoroughbreds and Three Chimneys Farm and trained by Ken McPeek, did not start as a 2-year-old and made her debut in February 2020 at Gulfstream Park, finishing third in a one-mile turf race. She was switched to dirt and finished second in her second start at Gulfstream and then won her third race by a dominant 6 ½ lengths going 1 1/16 miles. Envoutante then ran fourth in a turf stakes at Gulfstream before going back to dirt and winning an allowance optional claiming race at Churchill Downs in June, setting her up for a graded stakes debut during the rescheduled Keeneland spring meet, held in July.
The filly was a well-beaten third in a tough renewal of the Central Bank Ashland Stakes on July 11, and she started again against top-level competition in the Aug. 15 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga, checking in a distant fourth behind stablemate Swiss Skydiver.
McPeek then gave Envoutante some class relief, shipping her to Oklahoma for the Sept. 27 Remington Park Oaks. Sent off as the 3-10 favorite, the filly earned her first stakes win in dominant fashion, scoring by 3 ¼ lengths.
After that impressive win, McPeek brought Envoutante back to face a competitive field in the Grade 2 Falls City Handicap on Thanksgiving Day at Churchill Downs. The filly broke well from her inside post and set a comfortable pace through the backstretch. She fended off a brief challenge at the quarter pole and powered clear in the stretch to defeat graded stakes winner Bonny South by six lengths.
Unplaced in her 4-year-old debut in March 2021, Envoutante followed with a game runner-up finish to Shedaresthedevil in the Grade 1 La Troienne Stakes presented by Twinspires.com on April 30 at Churchill Downs before a runaway victory there May 29 in the Shawnee Stakes. In her final start of the Churchill Downs spring meet, she was third in the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis Stakes on June 26.
Envoutante earned her second stakes win of 2021 on Thanksgiving Day at Churchill. She set the early pace in the Grade 2 Falls City Stakes and repelled all challengers to draw off and win by six lengths, for her second consecutive win in that race.
Envoutante is out of the stakes-winning Bluegrass Cat mare Enchante.
