Souper Sensational broke her maiden in her first start, winning by 2 1/2 lengths at Woodbine on Sept. 26, 2020. Next out, she won the Glorious Song Stakes by four lengths on Oct. 17 over the same track.

In her 3-year-old debut, in the Silverbulletday Stakes at Fair Grounds on Jan. 16, Souper Sensational finished second, beaten 3 1/2 lengths by impressive winner Charlie's Penny. After a disappointing effort in the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes next out, Souper Sensational was 13-1 in the Grade 2 Twinspires.com Fair Grounds Oaks on Mar. 20. She turned in a much-improved effort, setting the early pace and holding on to finish third. She earned 20 qualifying points for the Grade 1 Longines Kentucky Oaks with that performance.
Rather than try the Oaks, Souper Sensational cut back in distance for her next start, the Grade 2 Eight Belles Stakes Presented by Smithfield at Churchill Downs on April 30. She finished fourth, beaten five lengths. After a brief layoff, she was sensational indeed in winning the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes at Belmont Park on Jul. 10. She crushed the competition by 3 1/4 lengths, covering 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.79.
Souper Sensational was purchased for $725,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Sale in August of 2019. Her sire (father), is Curlin, and her dam (mother) is the Indian Charlie-sired mare Kateri.
