After winning once from six starts as a 3-year-old in 2021, breaking his maiden in a one-mile race at Del Mar on Nov. 28, Who's the Star enjoyed a breakout 4-year-old campaign in 2022.
Who's the Star raced at seven different tracks in 2022 up through Oct. 8, when he earned his first graded stakes victory in the Grade 3 Durham Cup at Woodbine in what was his first career outing on a synthetic track. In the Durham Cup, Who's the Star rallied from last in a field of eight to set the 1 1/16-mile synthetic track record at Woodbine in 1:40.73. His margin of victory was a half a length.

Earlier in 2022, Who's the Star won the Niagara Stakes at 1 1/2 miles on turf at Woodbine on Aug. 30, and also added an allowance optional claiming turf win at 1 1/4 miles at Woodbine on June 19, and an allowance optional claiming win on dirt at Tampa Bay Downs on March 6.
Following his win in the Durham Cup, Who’s the Star kept up his good form at Woodbine, taking the Grade 2 Autumn Stakes by a rallying half-length on Nov. 6 and then closing fast yet again to finish in a dead heat for first with longshot Wentru in the Dec. 6 Grade 3 Valedictory Stakes at 1 ½ miles.
Who's the Star is a Kentucky-bred gelding by Tonalist out of the mare Shine Forth by Carson City. He is trained by Mark Casse.
