First Resort

First Resort won his 2-year-old debut at first asking with a 3 1/2-length maiden victory going 5 1/2 furlongs on a muddy track at Ellis Park on July 5, 2024. He then shipped to Saratoga for his second lifetime start and finished second in the Grade 2 Saratoga Special going 6 1/2 furlongs on Aug. 10. First Resort tried the turf in his third career start in the Grade 1 Summer Stakes at Woodbine and ran a solid effort but settled for fourth.

First Resort was back on the dirt for his fourth career outing and back in an exceptionally tough spot in a field of eight in the Grade 2 $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes going 1 1/16 miles at Churchill Downs on Nov. 30. First Resort was sent off as the 6.33-1 third choice on the tote board in the Kentucky Jockey Club but proved to be up to the task, pressing the pace throughout and stepping on the gas pedal in the stretch to draw clear to a decisive 2 1/4-length victory.

First Resort is trained by Eoin Harty for Godolphin. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Uncle Mo out of the mare Fair Maiden by Street Boss.
