West Hollywood, an Uncle Mo colt, finished fourth in his January 2024 debut in England but won his U.S. debut on May 1 in a 1 1/8-mile turf race at Churchill Downs, rolling home by four lengths.

The colt then ran second in a 1 1/16-mile allowance optional claiming race on turf at Churchill in June and was then shipped by trainer Brad Cox to the Saratoga meet, where he picked up his second win in impressive fashion. West Hollywood rallied swiftly through the stretch in a 1 1/16-mile grass allowance to win by three quarters of a length.

In his next start, West Hollywood tested stakes company in the Grade 3 Saranac Stakes held at 1 1/16 miles on Saratoga’s inner turf course. He rallied yet again to win going away by 5 ½ lengths in a race that was marred by the fatal breakdown of a horse racing to his inside in the homestretch.

Owned by Qatar Racing, West Hollywood is out of the Galileo mare White Hot and is a half-brother to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Pizza Bianca, who was owned by West Hollywood’s breeder Bobby Flay. He is from the extended family of English Derby winner Pour Moi.
