Innovator

Innovator had a very active juvenile campaign in 2024, making a total of seven starts as a 2-year-old with a maiden win to go along with four runner-up finishes including a second-place finish in the $150,000 Advent Stakes going 5 1/2 furlongs at Oaklawn Park on Dec. 6. 

Innovator made his 3-year-old debut in the Grade 3 $250,000 Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds on Jan. 18, 2025. He set the pace on a sloppy track in his first stretchout attempt to 1 1/16 miles and finished third when beaten only three-quarters of a length. The Lecomte was a points race on the Road to the 2025 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, and with his show finish he earned six qualifying points.

Innovator is trained by D. Wayne Lukas. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Authentic out of the mare Inspired by Unbridled's Song.
