Magnum Force (IRE)

Magnum Force finished second in his career debut July 24, 2024, in Ireland and followed with a 1 ¾-length win at Cork in his second start for trainer Ger Lyons. The Mehmas colt next ran second in the Julia Graves Roses Stakes in England at York before finishing third, beaten by 1 ½ lengths, in his group stakes debut in the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster.

Lyons then shipped Magnum Force to Del Mar for the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. He broke alertly in the five-furlong race but dropped back off the pace to race in ninth early under jockey Colin Keane. Magnum Force accelerated on cue in early stretch and made up ground on the inside before angling out and surging to the front in the closing strides for a visually impressive half-length victory in :56.36.

A homebred of Sheikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Magnum Force was produced by the winning Fastnet Rock mare Tropical Rock.
