all in Breeders' Cup

The Grade 1, $400,000 Bing Crosby Stakes is a “Win & You’re In” for the Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint this fall at Keeneland. The race drew an exceptionally well-matched field of 10 with six of the runners entering the race off a win or a narrow runner-up effort.

Sprinters will be in the spotlight Saturday at Del Mar as the $400,000 Bing Crosby Stakes will focus attention on the West Coast’s fastest runners. A deep field of 10 will square off in the six-furlong, Grade 1 stakes that will award the winner a free, expenses-paid trip to the Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint in November and should provide fans with a wide-open betting affair.

Each week a panel of media members, horseplayers, and Breeders’ Cup World Championships officials release a poll tabulating their votes on the nation's top contenders for the 2022 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic.

The fields for the 14 races that comprise the Breeders’ Cup World Championships really begin to come into focus in summer and fall and this regular feature will offer a snapshot profile of one of the previous weekend’s standout stars.

Horse racing coverage for the upcoming week in North America focuses on two major storylines. Several accomplished 3-year-olds return to the track Saturday in the $600,000, Grade 2 Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga.
