all in Breeders' Cup

Tom Pedulla presents five key takeaways from Saturday’s $1 million TVG.com Haskell Stakes at New Jersey’s Monmouth Park and other major weekend developments:

For the better part of 50 years, Al Gold traveled from his New Jersey home to Monmouth Park a countless amount of times.

He saw more editions of the TVG.com Haskell Stakes in the course of his 66 years on this earth than he can remember.

For the sixth year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the 2022 Triple Crown and then continuing through the 2022 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call the “Big Race Showdown.”

The Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious international events, today announced that Santa Anita Park will host the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships for a record 11th time. Next year will mark the 40th running of the Breeders’ Cup, where racing participants, horses, and fans from around the globe will convene at one of the world’s most picturesque racetracks for two days of championship racing.

This year’s Grade 1, $1 million TVG.com Haskell Stakes drew a field of eight, led by Jack Christopher, who is undefeated and untested in four races, including the Grade 1 Woody Stephens Stakes Presented by Mohegan Sun in June.
