Charalambous began training racehorses when he was 22 years old and four decades later he is still dedicated to his craft. He earned his first stakes win July 16, 1988, with Hear Music, won multiple stakes in the 1990s with Countess Steffi, and multiple stakes in the 2000s with London Snow and Crown Isle. So Long George won the 2013 Nijinsky Stakes to give Charalambous his first win in a graded stakes race. In 2024, an emerging prospect named Scorching posted stakes wins in the Simcoe and Cup and Saucer Stakes.
